Camped here 2 nights. Came in on motorcycles. Give plenty of time to arrive well before dark, moose and deer signs everywhere. Hiked Mont Albert, be sure to have good shoes and lots of water, steep climbed to the top. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Gas up well in advance 80 kms from gas station.
Hiked to the top of Mount Albert. Absolutely stunning views. The hike is pretty vertical - so be fit when attempting it, and have good shoes/boots.
Absolutely breathtaking place with gorgeous scenery and an abundance of wildlife. Pictures don't begin to do it justice. Some must-do's: -Mont Albert, the full tour: the climb is boring as hell but the view at the top is inexpressible. A flat summit, tundra stretching as far as the eye can see with crystal lakes-Mont Jacques-Cartier: the place to see caribou. Bring binoculars, you'll definitely need them! This place is otherworldly, but it's heaven on earth if you're a hiker. There's about six or seven trails but they all offer different things. Spectacular spectacular place.
Extraordinarily beautiful place. Lots of mountain trails and lakes to explore. One of our favourite parts of the trip was walking the Tour du Mont Albert, an 8-hour trail. A difficult uphill climb led to beautiful mountain views and a plateau, followed by a steep rocky descent and a long bumpy trail between Mont Albert and the surrounding mountains. The terrain was difficult for nearly the entire walk, so I wouldnt recommend it for young children or seniors. For my husband, my 15 year old daughter, and me, it was a fun challenge and an amazing experience. It was definitely one of the highlights of our 10 days trip in the Gasp region. Definitely a place to go for anyone love hiking or nature in general.
This place is absolutely gorgeous and well maintained. Giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because theres almost an ignorant way to ensuring there are no instructions in English. I thought the law in Quebec was to have everything in both languages but somehow Gaspsie is above the law. Some of the signs seem to be indicating safety precautions but still no English instructions! The staff are bilingual which is helpful but its hard to find your way around without any English instructions/signs. Its easy to take the wrong trail because you dont understand the directions or not understand what warnings are posted. They also offer lots of great tours which are not cheap but all the instructions are in French. Come on people, not everyone speaks Qubcois. Help everyone enjoy their stay in your park. The least you can do is to make some bilingual signs.
